" Life after Karamürsel"
After Turkey, I saw a chance to get a college degree with the Airman Education and Commissioning Program. I spent a couple of year at the AF Special Comm Center and HQ USAFSS, then reenlisted for Alaska and was at Elmendorf (6981 Security Group at the time in '64). So I applied and was selected. I made E5, all grades in Radio field. Went to Univ. of Wyoming, got BS in Statistics in '67. Was an E5 at the time. Just before I graduated, I was offered an MS in Computer Science at Texas A&M so I accepted. Got my commision in August 67 and went to graduate school the next day. Got my degree in Jan 69, went to the Pentagon and spent the next 10 years in Wash DC. Retired as Captain (O3) in April 78. Went to work for TRW and have been with them since, 22 years, all in and around the computer field. Plan to retire in a couple of years (I'm only 61 now).
Carol & I just celebrated our 42 aniversary. We have Brad, Christine, and Laura and 2 grandkids Jean Pierre and Josh.
